A Wilderness Escape
The North Coast of Vancouver Island seems a little bit wild to us. Connected via a latticework of logging roads and ferry shuttles, this remote region of BC remains a mystery to visitors and island residents alike.
This is small town BC. You won't find any skyscrapers or urban sprawl, less than 5% of Vancouver Island's population calls this area home. The residents have adopted a simpler way of life where the pressures of city living simply don't apply.
It's no wonder that the North Coast is continuing to see growth in the tourism sector. In 2007, tourism in the north coast areas exceeded all other regions of BC for tourism growth. More and more, city dwellers and foreign travelers are seeking solace and a taste of the wild west coast. Some visitors go for the world class salmon and halibut fishing, others will seek out a glimpse of an Orca or Grey Whale. Many will sit back and soak in the scenery of this awesome landscape. Whatever activities you choose, Eagle Manor Resort is the ideal location for a rejuvenation of mind, body and spirit.
Eagle Manor is a wilderness resort and fishing lodge located in Quatsino Sound. Quatsino is a small hamlet near Port Hardy, accessible only by boat or float plane. The Quatsino inlet boasts calm waters and some of the greatest fishing the island has to offer.
The journey to Eagle Manor starts in Port Hardy, from there - a water taxi takes you to the tiny town of Quatsino and Eagle Manor.
